FALL FOLLIES

 Fall Follies is our annual October fundraiser for our summer mission trips! The auditions for Follies are held at Fall Kickoff, and everyone who auditions for a dance part will receive one! As there are only a handful of vocal parts, not everyone will receive a vocal part; however, everyone who participates in Fall Follies will sing in the Follies choir when not on stage! For this reason, we ask the entire cast to bring an all-black outfit to wear in the choir loft during the performances. Audition results will be released in early September and will include all the important dates, from the first dance rehearsal, through the end of the show! Please note that dates are subject to change, and if any details change (time, location, etc.), we will always notify you via email, or text.

THE GIFT OF CHRISTMAS (GOC)

 GOC is an absolute monster of a show. In fact, there are 14 shows over the course of two weeks, with over 70,000 people in attendance! The Student Choir gets the opportunity to perform in a couple different portions of the show, and though it’s a significant commitment, the effort is worth it as we see many come to saving faith in Jesus every year! We will send a text later this Fall that will include a link to RSVP for GOC, and after your student has RSVP’d, we will use their Fall dance scores to cast them. Rehearsals will begin after Follies!

MISSION TRIP

 Our mission trips are why we do what we do! Everything on the PSWM calendar leads to the mission trips. Junior High Mission Trip has traditionally been a long weekend in late Spring/early Summer, and we’ve served in cities such as Austin, Nashville, New Orleans, Denver and more. High School Mission Trip is a week-long trip in mid-July, and we’ve served in cities such as New York City, Los Angeles, Boston, Denver and Miami, and even across the pond in the United Kingdom! We will announce the trip locations and open registration for students at Fall Follies!

STUDENT-LED-WORSHIP

 The Prestonwood Student Choir exists to craft confident, passionate worshippers of God. The end goal of everything we do is to build up the church through worship. Though we do this weekly from the pews, we also get to lead our church in corporate worship about once per quarter. These are always sweet times of worship, and are an encouragement to all of Prestonwood!

HOW WE COMMUNICATE

We send a ministry-wide email every Thursday from studentworship@prestonwood.org to both parents and students that includes information concerning the coming weekend, as well as a 40,000-foot overview of what’s coming up in the weeks ahead. Additionally, we’re always sure to send a Saturday text reminder to parents and students about Sunday’s upcoming choir rehearsals. This text may also include a link with a summary of additional upcoming specialty rehearsals, if applicable. Please note that replies to our mass texting system are not monitored, so it is best to reach out to us at studentworship@prestonwood.org with any questions you may have!

NORTH CAMPUS-SPECIFIC DETAILS

 The Prestonwood Student Choir is ONE choir; however, it does rehearse in two locations! Sunday afternoon choir rehearsals are campus-specific, but specialty parts (dance, solo, etc.), require rehearsals at the Plano Campus. We make every effort to hold rehearsals at both campuses whenever possible, but we’ll be sure to include a map of our Plano Campus building within audition results to ensure that everyone finds their rehearsals. Though we do not provide or organize transportation for rehearsals at the Plano Campus, we can tell you that there are PLENTY of carpoolers, and there’s no reason you should have to drive down alone! Let us know and we’d be glad to help you find some other carpoolers.
